Faithfully Single - Not Settling

Faithfully Single — Not Settling is a dating show about the real, awkward, funny, frustrating, and sometimes lonely realities of being single. We’re talking openly about the challenges singles face—from dating and relationships to expectations, rejection, loneliness, faith, self-worth, and the pressure to “just find someone already.” Our goal is to create a place where singles can laugh, relate, feel understood, and remember that being single doesn’t mean putting life on hold. We believe you can want love, keep dating, keep growing, and still refuse to settle for a relationship that isn’t right. We’re faithfully single, navigating dating one experience at a time—and hopefully helping other singles feel a little less alone along the way.

Someone's dating profile says Christian. You meet them at church. They tell you they believe in God.
But how do you figure out what faith actually looks like in their everyday life?
In this episode of Faithfully Single — Not Settling, we talk about one of the trickier parts of faith-based dating: determining whether you and the person you're dating actually approach your faith in compatible ways.
Because saying “I believe in God” can mean very different things to different people.
We share experiences where someone's actions didn't match what we expected based on the faith they professed, and we talk about ways to have deeper conversations without making the first few dates feel like a spiritual job interview.
What does their prayer life look like? Do they read scripture? How do they incorporate God into their everyday decisions? What's their favorite scripture—and why? What do they love about living their faith?
Sometimes the answers can tell you much more than simply asking, “Are you Christian?”
But we also wrestle with the other side of this conversation: How careful should we be about judging someone who's simply at a different place in their spiritual journey? Do you need someone whose faith looks like yours today, or could you grow together?
Ultimately, it's not about finding someone who can check the Christian box. It's about understanding what spiritual compatibility means to you and whether you're both hoping to build the same kind of life.

What happens when you've been praying for marriage for years…and you're still single? At some point, waiting can start to feel personal. Am I not faithful enough? Am I doing something wrong? Am I asking for too much? Is God even hearing this prayer anymore? In this episode of Faithfully Single — Not Settling, we get honest about the self-doubt that can creep in when something you've prayed for over and over still hasn't happened. We talk about why an unanswered prayer doesn't necessarily mean you didn't pray with enough faith—and why God isn't sitting there measuring whether your prayer reached some imaginary faith percentage before deciding whether to bless you. Sometimes the hardest part is accepting that we simply can't see everything God can see. We also talk about continuing to pray even when it feels like you're running on a hamster wheel, trusting that God's timing isn't punishment, and remembering all the things happening around us that we may know nothing about yet. Because maybe the prayer isn't being ignored. Maybe the answer just isn't ready yet. And when waiting starts turning into “What's wrong with me?”, perhaps faith means remembering that you don't have enough information to know why something hasn't happened. We're still praying. We're still hoping. And we're still choosing to trust that God hears us—even when we can't see what He's doing. ❤️

Have you ever been convinced someone liked you—only to discover they were interested in someone else, already dating, or simply not interested? That realization can hit your confidence hard and leave you questioning your ability to read romantic signals.
In this episode of Faithfully Single, Not Settling, we talk about the emotional spiral that can happen when we think someone likes us and find out we were wrong. We discuss how much of our self-worth we can unknowingly tie to whether someone wants to date us, why rejection doesn't necessarily mean you're unattractive or unworthy, and how circumstances can play a bigger role than we realize. Most importantly, we talk about building confidence that comes from who you are—not from whether a guy likes you back. Because sometimes you simply aren't someone's person, the timing isn't right, or there are circumstances you can't see. If you've ever had your confidence crushed by realizing someone didn't like you the way you thought they did, you are definitely not alone.

Who’s supposed to pay on a date? Should you offer to split the check, let him pay, or reach for your wallet just so he doesn’t think you’re expecting a free meal?
In this episode of Faithfully Single, Not Settling, we talk about the awkward—and sometimes surprisingly stressful—expectations around paying for dates. From worrying about the “secret signals” you might be sending to figuring out what feels fair, we share our own dating experiences and why inexpensive or free first dates can take some of the pressure off. Most importantly, we talk about giving yourself permission to stop overthinking every little detail and simply focus on getting to know the person sitting across from you.

Have you ever wanted to put yourself out there, but worried that people would judge you for how you look, how fit you are, or how you’ll handle the activity?
In this episode of Faithfully Single, Not Settling, we get real about the insecurities that can show up when dating—or even just meeting new people—takes us outside our comfort zone. Jeanette is preparing to attend a group event at a park with lots of stairs and slides, and suddenly her mind is filled with worries: What if I’m out of breath? What if someone thinks I’m out of shape? What if my body looks embarrassing?
We talk about body confidence, the fear of being evaluated, overthinking what other people are thinking, and the difference between how we imagine people see us and how they actually see us.
We also discuss using uncomfortable situations as practice for confidence, letting go of the pressure to impress someone, and simply showing up to have fun rather than treating every interaction like an audition for a relationship.
If you've ever avoided an opportunity because you were worried about how you'd look or what someone might think, this conversation is for you.
You don't have to feel completely confident to step outside your comfort zone. Sometimes, you just have to go anyway. ❤️
Question for you: What's something you've avoided because you were afraid people would judge you?

Have you ever been more attracted to someone after you got to know them?
In this episode of Faithfully Single, Not Settling, we talk about how attraction and chemistry don't always happen instantly. Sometimes, the person you're not immediately drawn to can become much more attractive as you discover their personality, character, and who they really are.
We discuss the pressure to feel instant chemistry, how dating apps can make us overly focused on physical appearance, and whether we give potential relationships enough time to develop naturally. We also explore the idea of getting to know someone before jumping into an official relationship, being authentic while dating without oversharing too soon, and why we may give our friends more grace than the people we're considering romantically.
If you've ever thought, "I'm just not feeling it," after one date, this conversation may make you think twice before writing someone off. Sometimes attraction isn't fireworks at first. Sometimes it sneaks up on you. ❤️
Question for you: Have you ever become more attracted to someone after getting to know their personality?
